About Me

Experience: Cut/Sew, Knitwear, Denim, Outerwear, Wovens

My name is Truc and I’m a Fashion designer residing in California.

I have over 7 years of experience as a Fashion Designer in which I quickly grew as a Designer through commitment and dedication. I’m constantly conscious of the brand, price point, margin, sales needs while incorporating my own spirit in design. I design based on demographics and trends that I see in the market. The process that I enjoyed most from fashion design is researching and developing. I've worked with vendors domestically and internationally. I love problem-solving. I am skilled in using YPLM, PLM, and FC. Weird as it sounds, I do like learning new software for product lifecycle management. I like owning and being responsible for styles. When I design, I am cognizant of how a style fits, feels, and its hanger appeal. I’m calendar-driven and skilled in communication. The main characteristic that has led me to gain powerful/long-lasting relationships with co-workers and mentors is my ability to empathize with my peers, leadership, and clients.

How did I arrive at Fashion Design?

Growing up, my mom and aunties were seamstresses. My mom made most of my clothes when I was growing up because we didn’t have money. Because of that, I was the best-dressed kid in preschool when I was living in Vietnam. As I grew up, I steered towards art and design. I went to FIDM and Academy of Art University in San Francisco. One taught me the technical side and the other honed in my design side.

Three fun facts about me:

#1 I've lived in California for over two decades, and never been to Disneyland.

#2 I love dad jokes and puns.

#3 I’m also a UX|UI Designer
